MY kichen? A MESS???

My kitchen's never really that messy. In fact, I told my friend, Danielle, just the other day that my house is almost ALWAYS clean. LOL! Look at it now! Me and my big mouth...

Wind Storm

We're having a storm this evening. The wind is blowing really hard. Nothing new here really. Haylee was outside with Elizabeth, though, and I just HAD to get this picture. What timing!
OH! And we're finally getting some rain! It's about dang time!

Grape Tomatoes

I have LOTS of grape tomatoes in my garden if anyone is interested in purchasing or trading something from their garden.

$2 per 1/2 lb. or trade!!! We love squash, green beans and fruit among other things. Just post a comment!

1st Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Lauren's 1st Day of Kindergarten. When I asked her how she felt about it, if she was excited, she told me "Ya, but I'm also nervous." I asked her why she was nervous and she told me she was worried that she'd miss me when she was gone. Ahhh, how sweet. She's so dang cute.
BEFORE SCHOOL
At the bus stop w/her buddy, Ryan.
We waited forever for the bus and I ended up just driving them to school.
Walking home from the bus stop after school with her "big" sister Haylee. =)

School

I just realized that some people maybe be confused. Yes, I was home-schooling last year. And then just a few days ago you saw pictures of the kids' 1st day of school. Yes, I put them back in public school. I home-schooled for an entire year and it's just too hard (for me, anyway) to teach 4 kids at 4 completely different levels. I just don't have the patience that some people have for teaching, I guess. Anyways, I'm exited and THEY are excited to be back in school. After home-schooling for a year, I have a new appreciation for public school. I guess my husband and I will just have to un-teach the things we don't agree with in the public school system, at home.

Children's Upscale Re-sale Boutique

My friend, Nanette, just recently opened an Upscale Children's Boutique in San Diego, CA called Fresh Picked Boutique. It's located at 6904 Miramar Road Suite #103. She's selling a lot of brand name items in excellent condition. I wish she lived closer so that I could shop there as well! The more kids I have, the more I realize just how much longer brand names out last everything else.

Mention Jessica in Utah and you'll get a discount! Happy shopping!

Closed

They closed the diner as of yesterday (Thursday). I guess it was just WAY too crazy for the little place to handle. They're gonna open back up Monday with the hours of 10am-9pm. They'll be making some changes over the weekend to better handle the amount of people we're getting in there. Who would have thought it would be so popular???

1st Day of Work

Spanky's

Last night was my 1st night working at Spanky's. It was horrible. It was sooooo dang busy from open to close. They were NOT expecting (or ready for) that many people on their 1st day of business. Gary (the owner) didn't advertise and just wanted to see what would happen. Well, we weren't expecting what came. Hopefully things will cool down a bit after they've been open for a while. Plus, after last night I think we can work out a bunch of kinks that will make things easier and better. Most people last night were pretty understanding, although, there were some (not many) that were not quite as understanding. Hopefully they realize things will get better and they'll come back and try us again. If not, their loss. =) Please, all my friends and family who might have been planning on coming in this week or next to check it out, wait at least a couple of weeks to allow things to die down so you can have the best possible service! And even though the service might have not been the best last night, I got NO complaints about the food, only praises...sincere praises. So that's a plus!

Spanky's

I start working today as a server for a friend who is opening a 50's style diner....Spanky's Express. He doesn't have a website up. I'm gonna bug him today about getting one. It's a pretty cool little diner located at 674 N 2000 W in Pleasant Grove, UT. Just down the street from American Fork Hospital. It's going to be serving yummy foods w/a little bit of a gourmet twist. I haven't had the honors of being able to taste anything yet, but I have read the menu and I'm VERY impressed. I'll let you know how it is once I've tried a few things. I have a feeling it's going to be delicious, though! Come check the place out. Spanky's Grand Opening is tomorrow...Wednesday, August 20th, during the car show that's going on right there. They're open for lunch and dinner. They'll be serving breakfast, in addition, on the weekends. And eventually on the weekdays too.

Hair Cut

I cut Jordan's hair last night. He's been begging me for a haircut for about a month now. It needed it. But I think the top needs to be shorter. We'll see how I feel about it in a couple of days.

1st Day of School!

I'm not sure who was more excited for the 1st day of school....me or the kids. I'm gonna go ahead and bet it was ME! Man, a year of homeschooling and you really learn to appreciate public school. Today was their 1st day of school. Jordan and Zach start school at 8 and Haylee starts at 9:15. The staggering makes it easier in the mornings. And when Lauren starts kindergarten next Monday she'll be in the afternoon. The kids all came home in a really good mood and happy with their teachers. That's good.

Dino Museum

I love having an annual pass to Thanksgiving Point. We can go to the Dinosaur Museum whenever we want. The kids love it. We really should go more often. Yesterday we went w/a friend of mine and her two adorable kids. Afterwards, we went to the Farmers Market, got some free samples and bought a cookie from the YUMMIEST bakery ever...Flour Girls & Dough Boys. Their bakery is located in American Fork, UT. Someday I'll have a bakery just as delicious and creative!

Cinnamon Rolls!

I have to admit...I make the best cinnamon rolls EVER. The only other ones that I've tested that even compare...only tie with mine. Ask me and I'll bring you some (Mom, Dani, be reasonable...I really can't drive 700 miles just to bring you cinnamon rolls, sorry!).

Picnic in the Park

Last Thursday the Lehi tutoring center had a picnic in the park for the volunteer tutors, students being tutored and their families. They had a lot of fun games for the kids and a barbeque lunch. The Lehi tutoring center is awesome. They offer free tutoring to residents and the tutors there are great!!!

Bee's Game

We took all the kids (minus Haylee, she's at her grandma's in L.A.) to a Salt Lake Bee's Game this last Saturday. Chris's company gave him 6 tickets on the 10th row right behind home plate. Awesome seats! They also gave us 6 meal deal vouchers so we all ate well, plus free parking. His company is great....always taking care of their employees and the families. Thanks DeltaValve!

Bowling w/the Girls

We took the boys to the movies & out to dinner last month. No pictures of that. But when we took the girls out...minus Elizabeth...they chose to go bowling. They had soooo much fun. We had dinner there at the bowling alley and the food was actually pretty dang good! Who'da thought? After bowling we took the girls to a new frozen yogurt place in AF...Frozen Yogurt Junction. Definitely not Yogurt Mill (El Cajon, CA.) but it was still good.

RMNR

RMNR???...you ask. This year we went to the 10-day (although, we only stayed 8...) Mountain Man Rendezvous that the Rocky Mountain Association puts on every year. They do it in a different place every year. This year it was in Wyoming...about 45 minutes out of Fort Bridger, WY. It was a really pretty place with a river running through it. The kids loved it. As did we. But I think I'm done with Rendezvous' for the year. =)

Flegal Family Reunion

July 5th, 2008 was the Flegal Family Reunion. Most of the extended family makes it into Utah in order to be there for it. The family is so huge I don't even know a lot of the people. Most of my cousins I don't even recognize. We had a HUGE family picture taken . This is with not even everyone!

Here is me, Chris, the kids and my grandma and grandpa Flegal
