Women's Conference

Last night was Women's Conference. My Aunt Lisa got a bunch of tickets and a bunch of us girls in the family went. Afterwards we went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone!

This is my and my favorite cousin, Cara! It's good to have her nearby again. Love ya, Cara!

My Boring Life

I haven't posted in a week or so. Nothing really going on around here. I work, work-out and clean. That's my life. My kids go to school, do chores and do home-work. Chris and I did finally make it into Spanky's to eat, though, last Saturday. It was so yummy! Their fries and fry sauce are so good! The burgers too!

So since there is nothing going on I thought maybe I'd post some old pictures.
My awesome Dad (on the right) and his good friend, Rod, at a Mountain Man Rendezvous in July 1994.
My wonderful sister, Danielle, at the same Rendezvous in July '94. She is so awesome and I admire her more than she will ever know. She is so stong and can do anything she puts her mind to. I love you, Dani!!!

Sunday

Most Sundays I usually love to bake. I admit, today I went a little overboard, but I had fun. A couple of weeks ago I decided to start making my own bread and tortilla's weekly. Last Sunday it didn't happen sicne we were in San Diego, but the week before that I made 3 loaves of bread and a batch of tortilla's. Today I made 2 loaves of bread (I discovered I don't need 3 since the kids are in school all day and eat lunch there), a double batch of tortilla's, chocolate chip cookies and home-made chili. I cooked my own beans in the pressure cooker and used tomatoes from my garden, so I had to peel them all 1st. I'll bring some cookies to a neighbor and some of the DELICIOUS tortilla's to a friend of mine that just had a baby.

Lagoon!

Yesterday we went to Lagoon for DeltaValve's annual Lagoon Day. DeltaValve (Chris's work)pays for our parking, all the tickets, 9 double-scoop ice cream cones and a Lagoon-catered hamburger/hotdog dinner. It's great! We pay for nothing but the gas to get up there! The kids have a lot of fun. Mostly Chris takes all the kids on rides and me & Elizabeth just follow along. She was willing to go on the train. Maybe she'll be a little braver next year. About 1/2 way through the day we go into Pioneer Village and get ice cream. The kids love to explore in all the little Pioneer "Shops" and check out all the old stuff...Elziabeth included. We usually spend atleast an hour in there. The kids don't seem to get bored with it.

Update on Spanky's

Business at Spanky's Express in Pleasant Grove, UT is going rather well considering Gary didn't do any advertising. We were a little slow tonight but I blame that on the rain. Most nights we're packed...especially the weekends. We're still in the process of ironing out some kink's but for the most-part things are going pretty smoothly. The food (I hear from the customers, I'm on a diet right now and can't have any til my 30 days is up...soon!) is awesome! I have had NO complaints on any of it. I can't wait to try the shakes and floats and yummy beer-battered fish and their big, juicy burgers! If you haven't come in yet, you need to!

Finally!

It's finally really raining here! I've been waiting all year for this to happen. Hopefully it keeps up for a few days. We could definitely use the moisture. I'm so sick of watering this lawn. It's mother natures turn! Yay for rain!

A Day at the Beach

Yes, I know. We have no beach in Utah. No REAL beach, anyway. That's why we went to San Diego for the weekend.

It was Friday afternoon. I was having serious beach withdrawals. Chris suggested that we take a quick weekend trip down to Sunny San Diego. Of course I agreed! I went to work that night and as soon as I was off we were headed out of town. We drove through the night, got into San Diego about 7am, slept for 3 hours, then woke up and headed to the beach. We spent 2 days at my favorite beach, Torrey Pines, just relaxing. I love it! What's more perfect than a warm sunny day near the ocean? Nothing, I tell you!

The kids had an awesome time playing in the sand and in the water.
They love the beach as much as Chris and I do. We were born to live in California.Kids at the Beach

My hottie husband surfing. Damn, he's fine!
